  5. Fitz Says:
I have had the lyrics for this amd "The weight" in my head since I can't remember when. I was not born until 66 and am from the UK so feck knows why I love these 2 songs but I absolutely do...love them. All of you slamming it for racist overtones and blah blah fecking blah get over yourselves you pretentious pricks! It's music and one of the the very best examples at that.....enough said.
  6. Lisandra Says:
why are you people so stupid, Just cause this song says dixie doesn't make it a racist song, and just because people are from the south did not make them slave owners. Most people that fought in the civil war had no choice but to fight, that was a brutal war, more americans died in the civil war that any other war put together, because both side where american. You people should learn about history.
  7. Stearn Says:
because Levon is a nice guy and robbie is a jerk.
  8. CHATWYN Says:
idk if you watched the dvd... but robbie was a main character... during the cut scene interviews, he led them. and Hawk and other got a lot of time in the rest of the DVD. realize it is a 4 hr show...
  9. DEHAAN Says:
Robbie Robertson is one of the most obnixious men in music. First of all, he gets all the money from any of the bands songs because he wrote the lyrics, secondly, he added his background vocals to the songs from this concert becasue they had turned off his mic. Also, he mixed his guitar way to loud in the mix of the movie and cut out alot of Richard Manuels vocals and notice you don't see Hudson or Manuel in this entire sing. He's a big jerk-off
  10. Aghna Says:
    Deo Vindice from California.
  11. Normando Says:
    Amen to that.
  12. Shiloh Says:
I'm Canadian and don't understand why anyone would have a problem with this song.I used to be a Confederate reenactor and discovering the history at that tumultuous time in America - and then reliving it on the battlefield - was a great experience. The South suffered tremendously in that war and Southerners should be proud of their heritage, in spite of the fact that its openly bashed and its symbols and expression repressed by the insidious menace of political correctness and cultural bigotry.
  13. Audwine Says:
Look, I'm Canadian and this song has nothing to do with Canadian history and culture. It is a song about the American civil war written from the southern perspective. I'd guess that Robertson wrote since he wrote most of thier songs. He is a talented song writer, talented enough to make you think he is a confederate soldier lamenting about the war. His nationality has nothing to do with it and he did not intend to inject Canada into the song otherwise he would have wrote the song about Red Rivr
  14. PENDA Says:
um, okay. what exactly is your point?
  15. Leonore Says:
Top 1 list of people who didn't write this song: Levon Helm.
  16. Jayde Says:
    HAHAHAHAHAHA owned
  17. Joran Says:
Levon Helm was a great singer in his time. Too bad his ordeal with throat cancer left it very difficult for him...does anyone know why the bad blood between him and Robbie Roberson??
  18. ABDUL-WADUD Says:
the Mothers, the Cheebas, the Choobas
  19. Galice Says:
heyy im going to make a band so if you can help me decide a name for it please contact me at stewie4576 thank you and please!!!!!
  20. Buach Says:
Everyone Shut up about the whole Canada stuff. This song is about the South. Respect atleast that. Deo Vinici.
  21. Camdyn Says:
    I want to have Ann Coulter's man-babies.
  22. Thaw Says:
I concur. Except that we should stop bitching about culture to start bitching about Coulter, of the Ann variety. I say we start at her man-hands.
  23. Vivica Says:
Hhahahahahahahahahaha, this comment is probably the funniest thing I have ever heard. Guys stop bitching about culter, and listen to the song.
  24. WYNDHAM Says:
