The Twinz are a hip hop duo from Long Beach, California, consisting of twin brothers Deon "Trip Locc" and Dewayne "Wayniac" Williams. After working with Warren G on his debut album Regulate...G Funk Era, the Twinz released their own debut album Conversation in 1995. In 1997 the duo appeared on Warren G's second album "Take a Look Over Your Shoulder" on the track "We Brings Heat". On Tha Eastsidaz 2000 debut album, Snoop Dogg Presents Tha Eastsidaz, the Twinz were featured on the track "Dogghouse" under the name Tha Locs.

I designed and animated this video for a class assignment instructed by Gail Anderson. The assignment permitted the use of b/w color, Adobe fonts and a song. I chose "The Luckiest Guy on the Lower East Side" by the Magnetic Fields. In the Bay Area hip hop scene he was known for his song The Ville about his notorious neighborhood, the East Oakland's 69 Ville housing projects. Later, he became the first West Coast rapper to be signed to Houston-based Rap-A-Lot Records. His lyrics were violent but rather intelligent and vivid depictions of gangsta lifestyle given in explicit detail. Miller released three albums in his lifetime: The hard-edged and violent The Dark Roads and the more typically laid-back west coast style Reality Check. 1997's Souls On Ice was released after Miller's murder in late 1996 and captures Miller in top form before his untimely death.

Just as the high tech revolution was taking shape in Silicon Valley in the 1970's, another group of innovators, entrepreneurs and artists on the East Side was taking lowriding to a new level. They were innovators in their own right, using groundbreaking media and mass marketing techniques to build Chicano pride and spread the urban style mystique worldwide.

Diego has long felt trapped by the conservative culture of East LA and plans to move away and open an upscale restaurant, hopefully with his lover. But Pablo views their relationship very differently - a point driven home when he begins dating Diego's Aunt Bianca. At the same time, Wesley and his boyfriend move in, gentrifying the neighborhood. The attraction between Wesley and Diego is immediate and electric, forcing both men to reexamine their state of affairs in this entertaining comedic drama.
