It seems that he's forgotten what he instructed Paul Bremer to do both during Bremer's stint as Viceroy in Iraq and shortly before pretending to hand over sovereignty to the Iraqis and leaving. Student: "Thank-you Mr. President. My question is in regards to private military contractors. Uniform Code of Military Justice does not apply to these contractors in Iraq. I asked your Secretary of Defense a couple months ago what law governs their actions. Bush: "I was going to ask him. Go ahead. [laughter] Help! [laughter]" Student: "I was hoping your answer might be a little more specific. [laughter] Mr. Rumsfeld answered that Iraq has its own domestic laws which he assumed applied to those private military contractors. However, Iraq is clearly not currently capable of enforcing its laws, much less against - over our American military contractors. I would submit to you that in this case, this is one case that privatization is not a solution. And, Mr. President, how do you propose to bring private military contractors under a system of law?" Bush: "I appreciate that very much. I wasn't kidding .... [laughter] I was going to .... I pick up the phone and say, Mr. Secretary, I've got an interesting question. [laughter] This is what delegation .... I don't mean to be dodging the question, although it's kind of convenient in this case, but never .... [laughter] I really will .... I'm going to call the Secretary and say you brought up a very valid question, and what are we doing about it? That's how I work. I'm .... thanks. [laughter]"

by DigitalPh33r John Brent (Deus Ex Machina) wreaks havoc on Salvation City thanks to the alien parasite that has bonded with him, making him stronger and faster but also cruel and merciless. After a frightening visit with Michael, John then goes after the man who tried to assassinate him (Behemoth), but John's attempted murder comes to an unexpected halt.

The first episode of DigitalPh33r's groundbreaking new Halo 3 machinima series, Deus Ex Machina. John Brent, with the help of his best friend Michael Jacobs, is a now reluctant superhero, and is Salvation City's only hope. Crime and murder is rampant throughout the city streets, and dangerous, gene-altering drugs are spreading among the weak and desperate. John's first case has him going after a petty thief with a horrifying secret.

John Bird and John Fortune (the Long Johns) brilliantly, and accurately, describing the mindset of the investment banking community in this satirical interview.

Paul listens to the song "Beautiful Boy" and tries to hold back the tears. Notice the tribute in the song to Paul ("every day, in every way, is getting better and better"). It's from The Beatles' song "Getting Better" - John's contribution to that song at the time was cynical and witty (his lyric was "it can't get no worse") but here he was sending a little message to Paul that Paul was right, life does just get keep getting better and better.

Here's a promo for The Beatles' hit "Help!" I love how Paul and George keep looking over John's shoulder trying to be seen! So cute! =)

Part Two of Three. Approx. 7 minutes. Permission to Land, Tom! That classic statement is Lennon's sussing of the situation at hand as Dylan begins to feel a bit ill during the limo ride. This is an outtake from 'Eat The Document', a chronicle of Bob Dylan's spring 1966 European tour. Coming in at just over 21 minutes, this famous [or infamous] limo ride with John Lennon and Bob Dylan has become mythic in its appeal to fans and historians of both iconic artists. Here is what is known about this filmed sequence: Filmed by D A Pennebaker, famed filmmaker who also captured the footage for Dylan's 'Don't Look Back' 1965 tour film, this was intended for inclusion in Eat The Document, but did not make the official cut. This sequence was filmed on May 27, 1966 - early in the day - inside Dylan's chauffeured limosine. There has been much documented that this was a cab or taxi ride. You only have to think that neither Dylan nor Lennon would have been able to take a common taxicab ride at that time without being spotted to realize that this is Dylan's limo. Aside from that, he knows everyone in the car which is more evidence of this being his crew. The drive takes place from John's house in Weybridge into central London to where Dylan was staying at the May Fair Hotel. The Beatles would all visit Dylan at the May Fair for the duration of his stand at the Albert Hall. Dylan would be playing the Royal Albert Hall that evening where he was roundly jeered by the fans who did not want to give up their own personal folk savior. John and George Harrison would be in attendance, cheering him on, and as they say, totally digging it. Dylan appears to be on...something. Or very hung over. And to that, towards the end of the ride is getting sick. John is very sharp for the most part, chiding Dylan and generally making fun of the whole situation that is going south. The Beatles were in recording sessions for Revolver, and at this point, were putting the finishing touches on 'Yellow Submarine'. Perhaps not their greatest track, but definitely one where the sessions were memorable for all including Brian Jones of the Rolling Stones. Transcripts of this film are available on the internet. This particular version has very nice video and audio. Note: this upload is for historical purpose and hopefully entertainment as well. I don't own the footage [but it's readily available on the internet] and am posting for enjoyment of the fans.

Jett Travolta, son of actors, dies at 16 The 16-year-old son of actor John Travolta died Friday morning after suffering a seizure while vacationing with his family in the Bahamas, Travolta's attorney told CNN. Jett Travolta, right, joined his father weeks ago in Paris, where John Travolta has been filming a movie. 1 of 2 "At this point, we know that John Travolta and Kelly Preston's only son, Jett, had a seizure at around 10 a.m. this morning," attorney Michael Ossi said. "All attempts to revive him were unsuccessful." The cause of death is not known, Ossi said. An autopsy will be conducted Monday. His body will be transferred to Ocala, Florida, for burial, he said. Jett's death "was completely out of the blue," he said. "John and Kelly are happy when their children are happy. This is the worst day of John's life." The Travoltas also have a daughter, Ella, 8. Bahamian police said a caretaker at the West End resort where the Travoltas were vacationing found the teenager unconcious in the bathroom. Jett Travolta was taken by ambulance to Rand Memorial Hospital in Freeport and was pronounced dead on arrival, police said. More about Kawasaki disease Jett Travolta had a developmental disability that his parents, John Travolta and Kelly Preston, have linked to Kawasaki disease, an inflammatory disorder of the artery walls that most commonly occurs in young children and can lead to heart disease. In 2001, John Travolta told CNN's Larry King that his son had a near brush with death related to the condition. "I was obsessive about cleaning -- his space being clean, so we constantly had the carpets cleaned. And I think, between him, the fumes and walking around, maybe picking up pieces or something, he got what is rarely a thing to deal with, but it's Kawasaki syndrome," Travolta said of his then-2-year-old son. Watch Travolta talk about his son's condition » "It was that the immune system overreacts, because they have almost the equivalent of metallic chemical," Travolta said. According to the American Heart Association, "About 80 percent of the people with Kawasaki disease are under age 5. Children over age 8 are rarely affected." The causes of Kawasaki disease are unknown. Some scientists think it's caused by an infectious agent, such as a virus. Some studies have noted a link between the disease and carpet cleaning chemicals. John Travolta gained fame in the 1970s, starring in the television series "Welcome Back, Kotter" and the movies "Saturday Night Fever" and "Grease." His career got a boost in 1994 with his second Best Actor Oscar nomination, for his role as a hit man in "Pulp Fiction." Preston has numerous TV and movie credits, including a supporting role in 1996's "Jerry Maguire."

In which John talks about Israel and Palestine, and the Israel's recent invasion of the Gaza Strip in response to rocket attacks from Hamas. Obviously no four-minute video can do the topic justice; we'll continue the conversation in comments, hopefully with some thoughtfulness and empathy.
